Ailun Zheng began piano at the age of four. Now, after studying for eighteen years, it has become an inseparable part of her life. Seven years ago, she left Shanghai for the United States to continue her piano studies. 

After arriving in the United States, Ailun succeeded in numerous competitions. She earned the first prize at the Interlochen Arts Academy Concerto Competition and the Music Teachers National Association Concerto Competition. She was also a finalist in the New York International Piano Competition. Ailun has been honored to play with orchestras in both the United States and abroad. As the winner of the Interlochen Concerto Competition, she performed with their orchestra in Michigan. She also performed with the Ashdod Orchestra of Perguia, Italy.

 Ailun is a senior student of Alexander Kobrin at the Eastman School of Music. After earning her bachelor’s degree, she will pursue a Masters of Music. When not performing piano, she enjoys horseback riding and its sense of freedom that she believes enhances her piano performances. Ailun will be staying with us through May 15th. We’re delighted to have Ailun performing for us at Milwaukee Catholic Home!
