Please join us for this two-part series on the culture and people of Ireland, both long ago in the age of Yeats and Joyce, and present day. Our presenter, Dr. Timothy G. McMahon is an Associate Professor of history and holder of the Way-Klingler Research Fellowship in Humanities and Social Sciences at Marquette University. He is an accomplished author and Past President of the American Conference for Irish Studies.

About the Presenter

Tim McMahon is Associate Professor of history and holder of the Way-Klingler Research Fellowship in the Humanities and Social Sciences at Marquette University. A graduate of Marquette University High School, he earned his Master's and PhD degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research focuses on Ireland and the British Empire, national identity, and popular culture. He is the author of Grand Opportunity: The Gaelic Revival and Irish Society, 1893-1910 and editor of Pádraig Ó Fathaigh’s War of Independence: Recollections of a Galway Gaelic Leaguer and, with Michael de Nie and Paul Townend, of Ireland in an Imperial World: Citizenship, Opportunism, and Subversion. He is the Past President of the American Conference for Irish Studies.
