MCH-Tim Crain Series-The U.S and the 1960s-The 1968 Presidential Election and Richard Nixon
October 4, 2023 @ 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
FreeIn 1962, Richard Nixon’s political career appeared over. He had lost to John Kennedy in 1960, and in 1962 he lost to Pat Brown in the governor’s race in California. However, with the ongoing problems for the United States in Vietnam, especially following the Tet Offensive, Nixon saw an opportunity to run for the White House in 1968. He ran on domestic policy of law and order, spoke of the silent majority, and talked of his secret plan to end the war in Vietnam.
