MCH-Fr. Tim Kitzke: Searching for God and Letting God Find Us: A Meditation on Francis Thompson’s Poem: The Hound of Heaven

Join Fr. Tim Kitzke for the 2023 Fall Retreat “Searching for God and Letting God Find Us: A Meditation on Francis Thompson’s Poem: The Hound of Heaven.” There will be large group sessions, discussion, time for personal reflection, and opportunity for receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation with Fr. Tim and Mass each day. Lunch will be provided. Each day will begin at 10 AM and end after 4 PM Mass in the St. Anne Chapel. The retreat will culminate with a lasagna dinner with the entire retreat group.  The retreat is Tuesday, October 3rd and Wednesday, October 4th. The schedule is as follows:

Day 1 Schedule: 

9:45 AM Sign-in

10:00 -10:45 AM Large group session 1

10:45 – 11:00 AM Time for personal reflection

11:00 – 11:30 AM Large group Q&A/discussion

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM Lunch Break

12:30 – 1:45 PM Opportunity for one-on-one or Reconciliation with Fr. Tim (15 minute time blocks)

2:00 – 2:45 PM Large group session 2

2:45 – 3:00 PM Time for personal reflection

3:00 – 3:30 PM Large group Q&A/discussion

3:30 – 4:00 PM Rosary

4:00 – 4:30 PM Mass

Day 2 Schedule identical to Day 1, with a communal lasagna dinner for all retreatants following Mass.

 

Fr. Tim Kitzke was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee in 1989, and is currently serving as the pastor of Our Lady of Divine Providence, Old St. Mary, SS Peter & Paul and Three Holy Women parishes, and is the Rector and Pastor of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. His is also currently serving as the Vicar for Urban Ministry for the Archdiocese. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors for Seton Catholic Schools, on the Board of Trustees for the St. Francis de Sales Seminary, and on the Board for Fr. Gene’s Help Center.

He was born in South Milwaukee in 1959 to Leo and Mary Ann Kitzke, the youngest of four siblings.

He started seminary at DeSales Prep Seminary High School. He has undergraduate and graduate degrees in philosophy from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and a pontifical and graduate degree in theology from the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium, in addition to a Master of Divinity from St. Francis Seminary, Milwaukee.  

Before coming to the east side, he was associate pastor at St. Roman Parish and Holy Family Parish.
